New here. I recently bought a BYD Tang and decided to invest in a second set of 22-inch wheels and tires for seasonal use. However, I've encountered a roadblock related to the TPMS.

Unlike most cars, the BYD Tang doesn't have a simple reset button for TPMS sensors. Instead, it seems to require a dealership visit to pair new sensors. The dealership was unable to assist with this, suggesting that only one set of original TPMS sensors can be used.

I'm wondering if this is indeed the case, or if there's a workaround to use aftermarket TPMS sensors with the BYD Tang. Any insights or experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there,

I have the same problem and got this answer from BYD dealer:

1. Some BYD models only have 4 memory spaces for TPMS sensors, which means that when you change them, you have to pair them again every time you change the wheels.
2. Only BYD original TMPS sensors work on certain models. Some models though can use aftermarket ones but only Autel sensors will work.

Hope this helps!

Some cars do lock TPMS to the original set of sensors, but you might be able to work around it with an OBD-II programmer like the Autel TS501. It can often clone or sync aftermarket sensors without needing a dealership visit. Worth checking before buying a whole new set.
