Hey, is BYD a reliable brand? I'm totally into the Atto 3 and Dolphin models they've got. But I'm stuck on which one to go for. Anyone here know these BYD cars well? What's your take—any recommendations?

Since I haven't owned one yet, it's definitely too early to say for sure about long-term quality. In my opinion, factors like the body and software will likely have a bigger impact than the battery itself. Batteries these days are typically designed to last a significant amount of time.

I recently test-drove the BYD Atto 3. While it's a comfortable car with a pleasant ride, I found the seat lumbar support to be lacking for my preference. Despite this, the dealership experience at BYD Birmingham was positive. They had the Atto 3, Seal, and Dolphin on display, allowing me to explore the options. I was able to test drive the Atto 3 the same day without a prior booking. The dealership staff was accommodating, and I could take the test drive for as long as I needed. Overall, it was a great experience.

I’ve got an Atto3! Honestly, it was the right choice over the Dolphin - more space, more freedom! Perfect for both quick errands and epic road trips. It just suits my lifestyle perfectly. Plus, who doesn’t love a bit of SUV style?

They probably just slapped the same battery in the Atto and bumped up the price because it's an SUV. Everyone wants an SUV these days, I guess. I'd much rather have a wagon, but I'm in the minority. At least I can fit my bike in the back, so I can live with it.
