I've got my sights set on the BYD Atto 3. I mean, come on, it's like getting a Tesla Model Y but with a way nicer interior and it's like half the price, you know what I mean? But hey, I'm wondering if it holds up in the long run, you feel me? Anyone here actually driven one of these? Would you actually give it the thumbs up?

I joined a few FB groups about this car, and it seems its infotainment system and electronics are still working out some bugs. Despite this, most people believe it's a good vehicle in general, and only time will tell how reliable it becomes.

I purchased the Atto 3 in October, and at the time, it offered excellent value for money, especially compared to Teslas which were significantly more expensive. However, the landscape has shifted since then. Atto 3 prices have increased, Tesla prices have decreased.

While I generally enjoy the car, I'm frustrated by certain aspects, particularly the software updates. The concept of over-the-air updates is appealing, but the frequent introduction of new bugs with each update is disappointing. Additionally, the lack of transparency regarding update details and the inability to opt out or revert to previous versions are frustrating. The slow pace of updates, especially when addressing critical issues like fogging, is another concern.

While the Atto 3 has its strengths and weaknesses, the evolving market and emerging alternatives make me question whether I would choose it again today.

Yeah, the Atto 3 seems like a pretty sweet deal, especially if you’re more focused on comfort than crazy acceleration. The interior feels upscale, and it’s got a good rep for everyday driving. Might be worth checking how service and support hold up in your area too, can’t beat peace of mind.

I'm definitely intrigued by the Atto 3. I hope they establish a solid dealer network so you can easily test drive one. It really comes down to the price and waranty. If it’s priced around 32k-35k with a 6 or 7-year warranty, it could be a real hit.
